Doctors at Vanderbilt University Medical Center have announced that a five-year-old Murfreesboro, Tennessee girl afflicted with a severe methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) infection has had her condition upgraded to “stable.”  After spending almost 2 weeks in critical condition at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital and suffering damage to multiple organs, Julia’nna Clemmons has shown improvement, a Vanderbilt spokesperson said.

Julia’nna Clemmons contracted the drug-resistant staph infection MRSA after scraping her knee.  Her parents have spent much of the last two weeks by her side at the hospital where she was visited in the pediatric unit by hip-hop artists Bobby Brown and Sisqo, the Daily News Journal reported.

Members of the community wishing to contribute to the cost of Julia’nna Clemmons’ recovery may donate to the Julia’nna Clemmons Benefit Fund at any SunTrust Bank.
